Brand Story

Around 2008, my graduation thesis in college was an 8x8x8 LED Cube. I designed the circuit diagram and C language program according to the requirements, and the finished product was very beautiful, many people liked it.

After graduation, I gave it to a fellow student majoring in art. She liked it very much and wanted to display her own designs on the 8x8x8 LED Cube, but she didn't know how to program in C language. So I spent a week designing a simple graphic interface software that allowed her to use the mouse to fill in the 8 8x8 squares, simulating the 8x8x8 LED Cube and designing her favorite patterns.

She was very happy and shared this design on their website. After many people saw it, they were very interested. Some netizens invited me to improve the software, so in 2009, I redesigned a 3D animation simulation software for the 8x8x8 LED Cube based on Directx 9.0 and designed an open-source hardware circuit that matched it.

At the end of 2009, my fellow student and I optimized the 3D software and its hardware circuit and started producing 8x8x8 LED Cube DIY electronic kits. For more electronic enthusiasts who don't understand C-language programming or circuit design, we provided electronic component kits to make an 8x8x8 LED Cube. After they completed the soldering, they could also modify their favorite patterns, and everyone was very happy.

After that, we designed 16x16x16 LED Cube and tower-shaped LED electronic kits, continuously optimized the functions of the 3D software and hardware circuit board based on buyer feedback, and tried to make it as easy as possible for everyone to install them successfully.

In 2013, we registered the iCubeSmart brand and sold our DIY electronic kits to the world. We received recognition from many friends from different countries and are happy that they can email us to discuss their ideas and help us do better. We will continue to develop more interesting electronic DIY kits to give back to all our friends.

If you encounter any problems during installation, or lost components, or burn the circuit board due to installation errors, don't worry, please send us an email, and we will help you. We provide lifetime technical support for DIY kits and will do our best to ensure that everyone installs them successfully.
